Craig Mastrangelo, Program Director- Friends & Fitness Runners Training Program
Craig founded the Friends & Fitness Half Marathon Training Program in 1996 in an effort to help others get in shape and achieve the goal of running 13.1 miles. Since its inception, hundreds of runners have completed their first half-marathons, with many returning each summer to train with the Friends & Fitness runners!
In 2009, the Friends & Fitness Half Marathon Training Program began raising money for the Race for Hope DC- in loving memory of Christopher Michael Mastrangelo, who passed away from brain cancer in November 2007 after a very brief illness. This year's goal is $20,000 with monies being raised thru program fees and a Brain Cancer Silent Auction that is held every April, with items kindly donated by local families and businesses.
Craig and his wife, Katrina, live in Arlington, Virginia with their two children, Madison Rose and Michael. Craig has run in over 10 half-marathons since the program's inception, along with the Marine Corps Marathon and a number of local 10k and 5k races.
